Catching up

Haven't posted in a while, as we have been busy trying to survive this winter (officially the second snowiest in Philly history), crazy work schedules (I'm traveling for focus groups and Brian is taking 1:30am conference calls in his closet- don't ask) and getting over our never ending string of colds (the stomach bug was the last to hit us- lucky me was away on business when it hit Cian. Not so lucky for Brian).

Here are some random pictures from the past couple of weeks:
Cian's favorite new shirt- cause it looks like Daddy's shirt- ahhhh so sweet
This is what happens when Cian skips his nap at daycare. He passes out 30 seconds after getting home.

So funny story - school has been teaching the kids to drink out of big kids cups. After the first day, his teachers asked me if we had a dog or cat. I told them we have two cats, why? Well, Cian was trying to drink his milk by lapping it up like cats do!

Then Cian became a stealth drinker. He would only drink from his big cup when people weren't looking.  At home, he refused to drink from a cup - only wanted his sippy cup. And at school, his teachers would pour his milk in a cup but he wouldn't drink it if they watched. Once they were helping another child, he would drink his milk. It became his teacher's mission - get proof that Cian was drinking from the big kid cups. And here was her proof....
Now we live with messy chins, wet shirts, spilled milk and sticky floors.

So bummed this wasn't in focus, but look at his cute smile. So proud!

Cian even taught Rhi how to drink out of cups. So another mom gets to clean up milk with me!

Here are two videos - Cian making sandwiches and Cian pretending to be a frog one morning...

Class Picture time

It's been awhile since I posted class pictures. That's because last fall, Cian refused to sit for pictures at school. We got a little note instead from the photographer apologizing for being unable to get Cian to stop crying and pose for pictures. Seems that Cian is going through a little phase where he is deathly afraid of photographers.

For spring pictures, we were expecting another note. But instead we got another surprise- school pictures with GROVER!

Cian's teachers got him to stop crying by having Grover come along. They really are too cute!

Ahhh, the cheesy collage - I always have to buy this one. Poor Cian, he looks absolutely miserable.

And Grover made it into Cian's class picture!

Cian's 2nd Birthday Party

Here are some pictures from Cian's family birthday party...

Checking out his cake...

So cute to see how excited he got when he realized Grover and Elmo were on his cake!

So cute!

Birthday fun with Jackson

For Cian's birthday this year, we took him to the aquarium instead of having a big party (I'm still recovering from last year's party). Noel, Kristin and Jackson joined us and we got to enjoy watching to boys run around, pointing out fish. By naptime, we all needed a nap!

checking out the aquarium....

Ready to see some sharks!
Took Cian a little bit to warm up to the aquarium... perhaps the little jelly fish freaked him out (cause they freak me out)

Jackson showing Cian how much fun watching fish can be

Sharks!
Sharks! Jackson could have spent all day in the shark tunnel, pointing out the sharks

Matching pjs- adorable!!
this is why its impossible to get a picture of these two - One of them is always on the move!

Cian's Birthday

Cian got a special surprise on his 2nd birthday - 16" of snow!

Which meant Cian didn't have school and Brian and I worked from home (which is tough with a cute 2yr old running around, wanting to play)

Enjoying his morning cereal. Pay no attention to the fact that he has a spoon in one hand but is eating cereal with the other hand. Look instead at his adorable smile.
our morning treat: a non-valentine day cupcake!
Opening presents - finally getting a hang of unwrapping presents
Trying out our new tricycle- thanks Uncle Josh!

Cian's new train table - set up in the dark, scary unfinished basement

Cian and his birthday cake! A cute tradition that Brian started last year- Brian picks out Cian's birthday cake from a bakery in the city. I love that its Daddy's choice!

And another cupcake. Sigh. Its pretty hard to compete with these little cupcakes right now- they are Cian's favorite. I'm guessing he gets a lot of these at school

A happy birthday boy!
