Here are some of the things from 2011 that we are grateful for:
- Our brand new house! Even with losing my job in October 2010, we were still able to make things work and close on our first home in April 2011. And we were so lucky to be able to pick out so many of our fixtures and have a say in how the house was built. Everyday we come home and are so lucky and in love with our new little home.
- My new job in April! Yeah- back to dual paychecks! Just in time for closing on our house :)
- Our June surprise! It was the furthest thing from our minds that Saturday morning when we woke up to start painting the office furniture and found out we were pregnant. I felt silly even taking the pregnancy test, but knowing oil paint is dangerous to little developing embryos, I decided to clear my mind and test. I was in such shock, I had to ask Brian what the positive test even meant! Its been so much fun these past 7 months getting to enjoy our first pregnancy and finding out we are expecting a boy. Only EIGHT more weeks (give or take) and we finally get to meet our little boy, "Teddy Blair".
- In August we got the great news that there will be another new member of the Blair family! Brian's sister, Kristin, is due 8 weeks after us with her first baby. So excited to have the two little cousins so close in age!
- Visits from family. When your family lives all over the country, you get used to only seeing them once a year, sometimes even once every two to three years. Its sad and hard at times when you need them closer by (or when they need you closer by) but we've all been living like this since 1991 (wow, 20 years!) so we are used to it. But this year, I got spoiled. My sister's family spent two weeks here this summer and built us a beautiful mud room (pictures to come), Josh came for a week while the McReynolds were here. Then in October, Jason stopped by for a weekend and a trip down to Annapolis so he could cheer on Air Force beating Navy. And then for Thanksgiving, my parents came for 10 days and Josh, Jason and my 3 yr old niece Malia all came as well. Its been so much fun getting to spend so much time with my family, in our new home, now I'm spoiled!
- In November we also celebrated 4 years of our wonderful marriage. It only seems like yesterday we were getting married! I look forward to waking up every day spending it with my hubby. We have been through a lot with fertility issues, losing a job in the middle of building a house among normal day to day stress - but through it all we've got each other backs and are such partners to each other. In a year when we saw too many people say goodbye to their loved ones, we are so grateful to wake up each day with each other.
For 2012, we are super excited and hope the new year brings us:
- A healthy, happy baby boy to love. And a nice easy delivery w/ no complications for mom would be awesome too!
- Healthy and happy family and friends. Too many friends and family had a rough 2011 and need a happy and healthy 2012! Here's to good health and happiness!
Some pictures from the past couple of months. Sorry, not the best - I haven't been my usual self and taking lots of pictures.
Josie and Will at a Phillies game. Doesn't Wilbur look thrilled?
Leslie and Josh canoeing down the Brandywine River.
Rather, Josh did the canoeing and Leslie looked pretty.

Josh and Leslie heading into NYC for the day, while we left Ken at home to build the mudroom!
Girls weekend to Palm Beach in September. One of the only times in my life where you will see everyone else with a fun drink and not me! (16 weeks pregnant)
My niece, Malia, visiting for Thanksgiving. Such a cutie!
Our first Christmas in the new house. We misjudged the height of our ceilings and got a 6' tree that looks like its 3'! Next year for Teddy, we will be getting the 8-9' tree!
Christmas Eve with Ashley and Kristin. My giant belly (30 weeks) and Kristin's little belly (22 weeks)
